Counselling Services Direct exists to provide affordable, high quality counselling. My objective is to offer counselling services to everyone without long waiting lists or very high fees.

Counselling to me is such a rewarding occupation. Many people say to me it must be hard listening to everyone’s problems. The truth is it can be difficult on occasions when I’m witnessing someone’s pain but I know that it is a very necessary process. Quite often clients have to hit the lows to reach the highs because it is within this process healing can begin. The greatest satisfaction is witnessing the strength and the Will that many clients have. To experience the drive and determination of each client is truly inspirational. l have seen clients with very low self esteem who lack confidence becoming stronger and stronger. It’s not from advice giving but from the clients taking the time to explore their issues. Change is often more effective coming from the inside out rather than the outside in. Sometimes they find strength they never knew they had or strengths that had been lost somewhere along the way.

It is widely believed that everyone of us has great potential inside. Counselling can help you find it. You may not feel you have that potential right now. Perhaps so much has happened in your life that it is buried. But it’s there waiting for you to find again. But you have to feel ready. No one can tell you when its the right moment, only you will know. Something inside you will stir and perhaps continue to stir …….you will know.

This is where my colleagues and I can help. We will use our experience and training to help you. No one is saying counselling is easy and you may find it emotionally hard work on occasions. But the rewards often outweigh the pain. Perhaps this quote from a client will help you understand the process better’

So much inside me was wrong. Nothing seemed right. My depression worsened. I knew I had to do something. Counselling wasn’t easy. and on occasions I wanted to quit. But they were the bad days. Gradually my counsellor helped me go through the emotional state I was in. Step by step we looked at everything that was causing me distress in my life. I began to see things differently and started to feel stronger. I did it with the help of my counsellor who never judged me…. she never gave up on me. I began to feel moments of happiness. I knew then I was on the way out of the emotional mess I was in ”.
